An addition to an existing historically significant rural cottage standing on 150 hectares outside of Bathurst. This extension houses three new bedrooms and a living area and connects the old with the new via a central gallery space. The gallery doubles as an indoor living room in Summer and an enclosed protected central courtyard protected from the Winter westerlies. The steel structure of the extension is simple and cost effective at the same time offering deep verandah spaces reminiscent of the historical building.
